On Thursday Chez Reavie shot a morning round of seven-under 65 to take the lead of the first round of the first event of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season, the Fortinet Championship. The top of the leaderboard was set before cameras even began to roll, as Reavie seized a one-stroke advantage over fellow early starters Cameron Tringale and Adam Hadwin. Also out early, world No. 1 Jon Rahm shot an even-par 72 while Masters champ Hideki Matsuyama carded a three-under 69 in the afternoon.
