Europe retained the Solheim Cup on Monday, beating the USA 15-13 after the points from the day's 12 singles matches were equally shared between the two teams. Matilda Castren ensured Europe's successful defence of the trophy they won two years at Gleneagles when she beat Lizette Salas 1UP - the visiting team taking a 14-11 lead with three matches to be completed. Jessica Korda and Yealimi Noh kept the USA in the hunt for a draw following respective wins over Charley Hull and Mel Reid. But Emily Kristine Pedersen won the final match to seal the victory for Europe, beating Danielle Kang 1UP.
