Golf: Ian Poulter leads after first round of WGC-Bridgestone Invitational

Ian Poulter leads the field after a terrific first round. Poulter shot 8-under-par with eight birdies and not a single bogey on the day. Poulter has a 1-shot lead heading into Friday over Rickie Fowler and Kyle Stanley. The 42-year-old Englishman finished just one shot outside the course record. Tiger Woods had an impressive Day 1 at Firestone Championship South Course despite bogeying his final hole. Woods, who has won this event eight times, shot 4-under-par.
