Shabab Al Ahli of Dubai got the better of defending champions Sharjah to clinch the Arabian Gulf Super Cup in Dubai on Friday. In a match of fine margins, it took a solitary goal to decide the issue at Al Nasr's Al Maktoum Stadium. Mohammed Marzooq got the winner five minutes into stoppage time at the end of the 90 minutes as Shabab Al Ahli won the first piece of silverware of the season. It was their fifth Super Cup title, having previously won it 2008, back-to-back in 2013 and 2014 and in 2016.
