Midfielder Rodri has extended his contract with Manchester City by three years, keeping him with the team through June 2027, according to the club's announcement.
Since joining Pep Guardiola's squad from Atletico Madrid for £62.5 million in the summer of 2019,the 26-year-old Spain international has consistently been one of the first names on the team roster.
For the Citizens, Rodri has made 151 games, starting 134 of them. He has won five trophies, including back-to-back Premier League championships.
Rodri explained the reasons behind his decision to extend his contract on the club's official website.

"I feel totally supported by the club and the manager pushes me every single day."

"City, I feel, offers me the best chance of winning trophies and that's why I am so pleased to be staying here for longer."
The sale of Gabriel Jesus and the anticipated departure of Raheem Sterling, who were making a combined salary of almost £400,000 per week, are reportedly going to assist push for Rodri's new contract and reportedly provide money to offer Phil Foden a lucrative new deal.
City director of football Txiki Begiristain added:
"He is the perfect example of what a top professional should be: he has a fantastic attitude, lives his life in the right way, takes care of his body and trains hard every single day. That is a manager's dream, and I know Pep loves working with him.
"He has improved a lot since coming here and, for me, he is now one of the best in the world in his position."
Meanwhile, during a turbulent summer at City, Kalvin Phillips, a new arrival, has increased competition for Rodri's position in the midfield.
Erling Haaland's high-profile arrival has coincided with Gabriel Jesus' departure for Arsenal, while Raheem Sterling is set to close his £47.5 million transfer to Chelsea soon.
