Football News: Marcus Rashford doubtful for Man United’s Carabao Cup final

The Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford hinted on taking a knock during Thursday night victory over Barcelona. After falling behind at the halftime, United came back to defeat the La Liga giants 2-1 and advance to the last 16 in the Europa League.

In a rare occasion where Rashford did not find the back of the net, Ten Hag's team scored goals via Brazilian duo Fred and Antony. Before being replaced in the 88th minute, Rashford failed to score or provide an assist for the first time in six games.

While the substitute took place everyone that it mighty just be due to precautionary reasons ahead of the cup final.

The 25-year-old has, however, appeared to imply that he had a slight injury in the closing minutes of the game at Old Trafford.

Only three days before United try to end a six-year trophy drought, Rashford accompanied a photo of himself strolling down the touchline on Instagram stories with a bandaged emoji.

Before being substituted, Rashford had moved into the area and tried to strike from a tight position, but the defender stopped his shot.

Rashford took some time to stand back up, and United decided to punt the ball out of play so that he would gain some attention and have more time to react.

That happened before Rashford was able to leave the field unassisted, which will be seen favourably heading into the weekend.

Alejandro Garnacho and Antony are available for United in the wide positions should Rashford be unable to play at Wembley Stadium.

Wout Weghorst struggled to have the same impact as a number nine as he had in a deeper place at Camp Nou, so Rashford was swapped there at halftime against Barcelona. As a result, Rashford is more likely to start down the middle of the attack.

Rashford has a remarkable record in the EFL Cup this season, scoring five goals and dishing out two assists in just 282 minutes of play.
