Football News : Christian Pulisic hints at reconsidering his thoughts over Chelsea future

Christian Pulisic, a forward for Chelsea, has stated that he is looking forward to a "new start" at Stamford Bridge under Graham Potter. Despite working together at Borussia Dortmund, the USA international was unable to establish himself as Thomas Tuchel's go-to starting.

Despite only playing for 60 minutes once this season, in a 2-1 victory over West Ham United, Pulisic has gone eight games without scoring or providing an assist in any league.

While Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling, and Kai Havertz are vying for attacking positions, the 24-year-old has only played 21 minutes in the Champions League so far.

Due to his inactivity, Pulisic has generated rumours about a potential January transfer, with Serie A powerhouse Juventus reportedly interested in acquiring the forward for £31 million.

However, Pulisic gave a hint that he wants to start a new chapter in his Chelsea careeronce Potter joined the team while speaking to ESPN while on international duty.

"I'm feeling good going back, honestly. I have a fresh start now, and I'm excited to play for the new manager,"

Pulisic said.

"So really just looking forward to it. I just have to prove myself, as everyone does, and as I've done before."

With the USA, Pulisic had a miserable international career. The Americans lost to Japan 2-0 before being held to a scoreless draw by Saudi Arabia in the run-up to the 2022 World Cup.

The Chelsea player was injured in practise and was unable to participate against Japan, but he was able to heal in time to play 76 minutes in his nation's 0-0 draw with Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

As the USA takes against England, Iran, and Wales in Group B, Pulisic will face some of his Chelsea teammates, but he is convinced that the USA will be a different force to be reckoned with come November.

"I think, obviously, not the results that we were really hoping for going into the World Cup, but we're not going to feel too disappointed going into those games because now we have a fresh start and we're going to go into that World Cup flying,"

Pulisic added.

"We just have to do everything we can to make sure we're prepared and ready to go when that time comes. [We need to] do everything that we can to prepare your body physically, mentally, as best you can to be prepared once that time comes. And if everyone does that, I think we're going to be in good shape for the World Cup."

Since joining the team in the summer of 2019, Pulisic has made 123 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, tallying 25 goals and 19 assists while winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Following the postponements of their matches against Fulham and Liverpool, Chelsea will travel to Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace on Saturday, where Potter will oversee his first Premier League game for the Blues.
