According to reports, Chelsea will compete with Arsenal and Liverpool for Villarreal winger Yeremi Pino. The 19-year-old has played for the first team frequently the past two seasons under head coach Unai Emery,
In doing so he tallied 14 goals and five assists in 77 games across all competitions. In November of last year, Pino signed a new five-year deal with the Yellow Submarine that has a €80 million (£67.3 million) release clause.
However, there is a lot of rumours about the Spanish international, and numerous Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing him. According to a recent rumour, English top-flight clubs are 'strongly interested' in Pino, and Villarreal is anticipating receiving offers for the young winger this summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool are rumoured to be considering offers for Pino, but according to journalist Fabrizio Romano of football. london, Chelsea is about to enter the fray.
Villarreal wants to keep Pino, but Emery recently acknowledged that if a good offer came in this summer, Villarreal would be compelled to move the winger.
Speaking to reporters last weekend, the former Arsenal boss said:
"If an offer arrives for players like Yeremi Pino, then he will have to leave. We have a responsibility with the club. It is what it is."
Due to their current financial predicament, it is believed that Villarreal would find it difficult to reject offers for Pino that ranged between €40 (£33.9m) and €50 (£42.3m).
Real Madrid, Manchester City, and other teams have also been said to be interested in signing Pino, who reputedly passed down the opportunity to join for Barcelona as a young player.
Nando Martinez, the under-23 assistant coach for Villarreal, lauded Pino last season and thinks the winger has the mindset to reach his full potential.
"Yeremy stands out for his character. The more difficult the challenge, the more able he is to demonstrate his potential,"
Martinez told El Pais via Goal.
"He maintains the essence of when he played on the street as a child. In addition, he lives for football, and every day ensures he has the right complementary training, nutrition and rest. Yeremy has been, and is, a blessing for his coaches."
Pino is not the only promising young player who has recently been linked with a transfer to Chelsea; Cesare Casadei of Inter Milan and Anthony Gordon of Everton are both thought to be on their radar.
According to a recent source, Casadei, a 19-year-old midfielder, has reached an agreement to join the Blues for an initial cost of €15 million (£12.6 million) plus €5 million (£4.2 million) in add-ons. Casadei is scheduled to have his medical in England on Thursday.
Chelsea is reportedly preparing an enhanced £50 million offer for 21-year-old Gordon after having two offers turned down by the Toffees recently.
