Football: Guardiola delighted as 'real defenders' Ake and Dias help City beat Arsenal

The City boss is pleased with his new centre-backs as they beat Arsenal 1-0. Pep Guardiola: "Both guys, the defenders, especially Nathan [Ake] and Ruben [Dias] today, the way they played, they don’t make mistakes. We saw for a lot of last season, especially last season, a lot of mistakes were done. They still have to improve but I have the feeling they are defenders, real defenders. I have to help them create the build up, to create the spaces where we want to play but for that we have time to train but today in an important and difficult game, [Ruben Dias] was there and I think the most important thing from Ruben is he is a type of leader. He is a guy in a short time who will lead the team, who will lead the pressure. He’s just 23 years old. We cannot forget he is a central defender for Portugal and when this happens it’s something special. We are delighted so far with what we’ve seen."
