Cricket News : Rohit on comfortable victory over Afghanistan, and the appointment of Dravid as head coach

Needing a victory to avoid a shock early elimination from the Men's T20 World Cup, India thrashed Afghanistan by 66 runs on Wednesday. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave the Indians the perfect start, putting on 140 for the first wicket. Robust late hitting from Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant saw the pre-tournament favourites to 210 for 2 - the biggest score so far in the tournament. The Afghans managed 144 for 7 in response. While Sharma was cracking the ball around the Zayed Cricket Stadium, former captain Rahul Dravid was appointed as India's new head coach, taking over from Ravi Shastri when he steps down at the end of the tournament.
