Cricket News: KS Bharat reveals MS Dhoni's advice ahead of WTC 2023 Final

With the World Test Championship (WTC) Final approaching, both Australian and Indian players are on high alert. Because of the size of the game, opinions and recommendations have been flowing in from all over the world.

In a recent interview with the ICC, Indian wicketkeeper KS Bharat made an intriguing disclosure. Bharat revealed that before the crucial match against Australia in the WTC Final, he received some helpful advice from former India captain and famous wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni.

During the Indian Premier League (IPL), the 29-year-old stated he chatted with Dhoni and learned how to adjust to English conditions and what would work best for any wicketkeeper in these conditions.

"It was a very good conversation and there were a lot of insights from that,"

The Indian wicketkeeper revealed speaking to ICC.

The wicketkeeper-batter also named the former Indian captain as one of the finest wicketkeepers in these difficult situations because of Dhoni's awareness, and he also praised the plans that he follows when keeping.

"You need intent and passion to be a keeper, because keeping is a thankless job. You keep 90 overs in a Test day and you have to be concentrating ball by ball, so you have to accept the challenges and embrace it and be really passionate about contributing to the team,"

Bharat said.

The 29-year-old has only played four Tests for India, all of which were against Australia earlier this year in India. Bharat's glove work secured him a spot in the team, but his batting performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series was lacklustre.

However, Ishan Kishan, who came in England following a successful IPL season, is another option for wicketkeeping in the Indian team. Kishan has yet to play for India in the longest format of the game, therefore if he is called up, he will make his debut in the championship match. The 24-year-old batter's ability to win matches may persuade India to start him in the WTC Final.
