England overcame two bouts of collapses, courtesy contrasting half-centuries by Rory Burns and Jonny Bairstow to post a healthy 258 in their first innings of the second Test at Lord's, despite three-fers from Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. Australia pushed the hosts on the back foot at the start of the morning session and then again post Lunch, but the home team found a way back through two fifty partnerships that avoided a total catastrophe. Australia wiped out 30 runs off that score, ending 228 behind the home team's first-innings total with nine wickets intact. GFX IN Let’s look at the scorecard now. Visitors rode on brilliant bowling efforts of Josh Hazlewood (3/58), Pat Cummins (3/61) and Nathan Lyon (3/68) to bowl out England for 258 after opting to bowl in the 2nd Ashes Test at Lord's. Rory Burns and Jonny Bairstow were the only fighters for the hosts in the batting department. Jason Roy was again a flop who couldn’t even open his account this time around. Root, Denly, Stokes and Buttler got starts but again they failed to convert into big scores. Credit to Bairstow and then Woakes too who chipped in with 32 to help England score 258. Cummins, Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon also picked up 3 wickets apiece.
