Cricket News: BCCI take steps to fight age & domicile fraud

The BCCI has implemented new measures to counter the menace of age and domicile fraud in cricket in India. The additional measures are taken by the sport's governing body in India which will be applicable to all cricketers participating in the BCCI age-group tournaments from season 2020-21 onwards. The board further said that in order to report age fraud, a dedicated 24X7 helpline has been put in place. The BCCI has also asked players to sign a consent form before resuming training at their respective stadiums and academies. According to a 100-page-long Standard Operating Procedure, the players will have to sign the form acknowledging the risks involved with resumption of training amid the Covid-19 pandemic. From travelling to the stadium to training there the players will have to follow strict safety protocols. Before the commencement of the camp, the medical team should acquire travel and medical history of the past 2 weeks of all players and staff through an online questionnaire.
