Cricket News : Australia hope to keep momentum on Boxing Day’ – Smith ahead of 3rd Test

As Australia celebrated their second Ashes Test victory over England on Monday, stand in captain Steve Smith turned his attention to the next match in Melbourne.

Smith's side easily won the Adelaide Test by 275 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series and now the 32-year-old is keen to get back onto the field for what is "going to be a great occasion."

England need to win all three of the remaining Tests to regain the Ashes, but history is against them - only one team has come from 2-0 down to win an Ashes series: Don Bradman’s Australia in 1936-37.

As holders of the Ashes, Australia need just a draw at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) to retain the urn.
