Badminton: Wins for Shi Yuqi and Ratchanok Intanon at the BWF World Tour Finals

At the BWF World Tour Finals, Chinese world number two Shi Yuqi completed a clean sweep of the group stages (winning three in three) after beating Chou Tien Chen of Taiwan in straight games. Needing a win to stay alive in the tournament, Chou slumped to his second defeat in a row. In women's singles Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon needed a win to advance - and the former world champion made quick work of her Canadian opponent, Michelle Li. Intanon won in straight games to seal a semi-final spot. In the women's doubles, reigning Olympic gold medallists Misaki Mitsutomo and Ayaki Takahashi made it three wins in three to knock out Chinese pair Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan. Meanwhile, in men's doubles, Taiwan's Liao Min Chun and Su Ching Heng salvaged some pride as they won against already-qualified Japanese duo Hiroyuki Endo and Yuta Watanabe in three tough game.
