The entire Indian men’s badminton team has been withdrawn by the Badminton World Federation from the ongoing SaarLorLux Open amid the coronavirus pandemic which has jolted the entire world in some way or the other. The decision has been taken by the BWF as a precautionary measure for all the participants after having been in contact with a positive case within the team. The positive case within the team was Mr. DK Sen, father-cum-coach of young shuttler Lakshya Sen. Mr. Sen was tested positive at a mandatory pre-tournament screening for coronavirus at Frankfurt after arriving from Copenhagen. As per the reports, he is asymptomatic and in isolation. Earlier, Malvika Bansod got knocked out of the tournament after losing to Kristin Kuuba of Estonia 12-21, 19-21.
