Badminton: Defending champions Indonesia beat Malaysia for straight sixth gold at SEA Games

The defending champions Indonesia beat Malaysia 3-1 to win SEA Games gold in Manila. Jonathan Christie of Indonesia beat Lee Zii Jia 21-9, 21-17 in singles. Chia and Yik beat Alfian and Ardianto 21-17, 21-13 in doubles to level for Malaysia. Anthony Ginting of Indonesia beat Soong Ven 13-21, 21-15, 21-18 in 69 minutes to take 2-1 lead for Indonesia. Pangkaryanira and Santoso registered a deciding 21-16, 21-19 victory over Sin and Yi in men’s doubles to give Indonesia their sixth straight gold at SEA Games.
