Asian Games News: Panchayat more important than Asian Games for Chef de Mission?

India’s chef de mission for Asian games 2018, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is scheduled to reach Indonesia three days late because of Panchayat by-polls in Uttar Pradesh. The Asian Games Village in Jakarta is set to be officially opened on August 11 and as the athletes arrive, it is Chef de Mission’s responsibility to register the entire contingent in the system. The delegate registration meetings are scheduled for August 11, 12 and 13. However, Singh will leave India only on August 14 as he has to attend his political party’s meeting over the weekend before heading to Jakarta.
