Archery News: Infighting within Archery Association of India takes new twist

After months of infighting within the Archery Association of India, Mr. Arjun Munda was elected as the president after beating BVP Rao by a comfortable margin. Munda had a smooth sailing in the elections and his entire panel secured majority share of votes and were elected for a full tenure of four years. Now in a new twist, the BVP Rao-led faction has recently filed another application seeking to make null and void January’s elections because of the inclusion of Uttarakhand in the electoral roll. Former Chandigarh faction secretary Maha Singh, who filed the complaint, had raised objections in January and the court had asked Returning Officer PK Tripathi to pass appropriate orders. The argument of rival faction is that the Uttarakhand Archery Association was not registered under the Societies Registration Act on or before December 4, 2017.
