Roger Federer eased into the third round at the French Open after a convincing 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 win over German Oscar Otte in Paris. The 2009 champion needed only one hour and 37 minutes to beat the world number 144. The Swiss third seed, playing in the tournament for the first time since 2015, will meet Norwegian Casper Ruud in the third round. Ruud's father Christian was in the draw when Federer made his grand slam debut at Roland Garros in 1999.
