Tennis : Petra Kvitova beats Elise Mertens in a tough three sets encounter at the Western and Southern Open

Petra Kvitova became the first player through to the semi-finals in Cincinnati. Kvitova registered a difficult 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 win over Elise Mertens, as she won the quarter-final in two hours and 44 minutes.
