Tennis: I won Rome yet didn't play at my best - Djokovic

Novak Djokovic may have struck some fear into the hearts of his rivals after saying he won the Italian Open without playing his best tennis. Djokovic: "I really wanted to get on the court, get whatever traces of that [US Open default], if there were any, out of the way. I think I had a really good week. I don’t think I played my best tennis to be honest. I don’t want to sound arrogant here. I am of course very, very satisfied and pleased and happy to win the title. I know that I still have a couple of gears and hopefully I’ll be able to raise that level for the French [Open] because that’s going to be necessary if I want to go deep in the tournament, but the positive thing is I thought I served very well throughout the entire tournament and I found my, let’s say ‘A’ game when it was most needed in the decisive moments. When I really needed to find my best game I did."
