Timea Bacsinszky came back from a set down to beat Sam Stosur and advance to the quarter-finals of the Sydney International on Wednesday. Stosur broke Bacsinszky's serve in a marathon 12th game of the opening set, which Australia took 7-5. Breaks were traded at the start of the second set before Bacsinszky claimed another in the fifth game on the way to taking it 6-4. The Swiss world number 192 then broke in each of Stosur's last two service games to wrap up the match 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Bacsinszky will face either Aliaksandra Sasnovich or Priscilla Hon in the quarter-finals.
