Football : Vietnam beat Philippines 2-1 to secure place in AFF Championship final

Vietnam booked their place in the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup for a third time on Thursday after beating Sven-Goran Eriksson's Philippines 4-2 on aggregate. There was a late flurry of goals in the second leg in Hanoi. Nguyen Quang Hai put Vietnam ahead in the 83rd minute. Nguyen Cong Phuong added a second four minutes later.James Younghusband got the Philippines' consolation. Featuring in their first final in this tournament since 2008, Vietnam will now take on Malaysia.
