Tuesday saw the release of Qatar 2022 official a promo film to mark four years to the start of the World Cup on the 21st of November 2022 Qatar surprisingly won the right to host the 2022 tournament eight years ago, when their national team was ranked 113th in the world by FIFA. 2022 could also mark the first 48-team World Cup, with FIFA President Gianni Infantino saying they are looking into the possibility. The tournament will take place in eight stadiums overall. This will be host nation Qatar's first appearance in the FIFA World Cup.
