North Korea bounced back from a heavy opening defeat to Germany by convincingly seeing off USA 3-0 and reigniting the charge to reach the quarter-finals of the FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018. Amid an early downpour in Colonia Del Sacramento, the reigning champions kicked into gear midway through the first half. Ri Kum-Hyang pounced after an almighty scramble in the USA box and the central defender tucked away the opener after 24 minutes. Seven minutes later USA goalkeeper Angelina Anderson was left to pick the ball out of her net after Kim Yun-Ok rose highest to head home a Korean corner from the right at the near post. After the break it was a similar story, with Song Sung-Gwon's team putting the game out of reach on 51 minutes as Kim Kyong-Yong fired home, again after a corner.
