Football: Messi almost joined Mourinho's Chelsea in 2004 - Di Marzio

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reveals how Messi almost left Barcelona long before his recent transfer saga. Di Marzio: “One of the most unknown things I think is Messi's transfer to Chelsea that didn't go through. In 2004, Messi was really so close to Chelsea because he wanted to play for [Jose] Mourinho. There was a long chat, even a [video call] between the two. In my book, I talk about this phone call which was very nice. That was the first time Messi had chosen to leave Barcelona, then a couple of months ago there was a second edition, but that time was the first time and Messi was so close to join [Roman] Abramovich and Mou's Chelsea in the Premier League.”
