Football: Eredivisie likely to be cancelled with Ajax and AZ Alkmaar level at top

The Dutch Football Association doesn't expect to finish the Eredivisie season as the government has decided to extend the ban on events until the beginning of September. The decision has left Ajax and AZ Alkmaar in the lurch with the two teams level on points at the top of the table. Both teams are separated just on goal difference. The Dutch football association doesn’t want to continue with the 2019-20 season but will consult UEFA before making a final decision.
