Football: Ajax and AZ denied title as Eredivisie season declared void

Eredivisie season ended without any promotion and relegation of the teams. Defending champions Ajax, who were level at the top of the table, missed out on a possible second consecutive championship title. They had last achieved this feat in 2012 and 2013. It is for the first time the Netherlands couldn’t find league champions since 1945. Ajax and AZ Alkmaar booked their places in next season’s Champions League.
