Cycling : Tiesj Benoot wins stage 6 of the Paris-Nice

Tiesj Benoot won stage 6 of the Paris-Nice, 22 seconds ahead of his Sunweb teammate Michael Matthews. The Belgian covered the 161.5 kilometres from Sorgues to Apt in a time of three hours 57 minutes and two seconds to close the gap on overall leader Maximilian Schachmann to 36 seconds. Schachmann's cause was not helped when late in the stage he took a bend too fast and crashed. The German Bora-Hansgrohe rider managed to cross the line in 12th.
