Cricket News: Third consecutive win for Punjab

Punjab beat Delhi by 5 wickets and avenged their defeat of this season in Dubai. Delhi opener Shikhar Dhawan became the first batsman to score hundreds in consecutive matches in IPL when he scored his second straight century. In Delhi's last match against Chennai, Dhawan finished unbeaten on 101 as Delhi defeated Chennai by five wickets. In this match, he got to the milestone off just 57 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes after opening the innings for Delhi. With consecutive tons Shikhar Dhawan also became the 5th batsman to cross 5000 IPL runs. He is the fourth Indian to reach this milestone after Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma. Dhawan is also at 2nd spot in the list of leading run-scorers of IPL 2020 with 465 runs in 10 matches. But despite Dhawan's heroics Delhi could only manage 164/5 in 20 overs. Chasing 165-run target Nicholas Pooran notched up his half-century as Punjab chased down the target in just 19 overs winning the match by 5 wickets and in the process won their 3rd consecutive match of the tournament. Despite defeat Delhi is on top of the IPL points table while Punjab is at 5th spot with 8 points in 10 matches.
